The University of Benin (UNIBEN) is seeking a dedicated and academically driven individual to join our esteemed faculty as an Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Religions. Key Responsibilities- Deliver engaging undergraduate lectures, seminars, and tutorials in the field of Religious Studies.
- Develop and update course materials, syllabi, and curriculum modules in line with university and NUC standards.
- Supervise undergraduate student projects, essays, and academic activities.
- Conduct high-quality, peer-reviewed academic research and publish findings in reputable journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university-wide committee meetings and administrative tasks.
- Engage in community service and academic outreach initiatives representing the university.
- Must hold a First Degree with a minimum of a Second-Class Upper Division, OR a Second-Class Lower Division with a completed PhD.
- Possession of a Master’s degree in Religious Studies or a related discipline is mandatory.
- Must have an ongoing PhD or show clear evidence of PhD registration and progression.
- Demonstrated evidence of teaching potential, pedagogical skills, and active research interests.
