The Federal University Lafia invites applications from suitably qualified and passionate academics for the position of Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Architecture. Established in 2011 in Nasarawa State, our institution is committed to academic excellence, innovative research, and increasing access to quality university education in Nigeria. As an Assistant Lecturer, you will play a vital role in delivering engaging lectures, mentoring undergraduate students, and contributing to the vibrant academic community within our expanding Faculty.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver comprehensive undergraduate lectures, seminars, and studio tutorials in accordance with the approved curriculum.
- Supervise student design projects, studio work, and undergraduate research dissertations.
- Assist in the development, review, and updating of course materials and architectural syllabi.
- Conduct independent and collaborative research, publishing findings in reputable peer-reviewed journals.
- Participate in departmental, faculty, and university committee meetings as assigned by the Head of Department.
- Provide academic advising and mentorship to students to support their professional and personal development.
- Possess a good Bachelor's degree (Second Class Honours or above) in Architecture or a directly related field from a recognized institution.
- Must hold a Master's degree in Architecture (M.Arch) or a closely related discipline.
- Demonstrated potential for academic research and scholarly publications in the field of architecture.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills suited for academic environments.
- Membership or eligibility for registration with relevant professional bodies such as the Architects Registration Council of Nigeria (ARCON) is an added advantage.
