About the Role
HBM Nigeria Plc (Formerly Lafarge), a leading building solutions company, is seeking a dynamic and skilled Assistant Electrical/Instrumentation Manager to join our operations. In this role, you will support the Electrical Manager in driving the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of all electrical and instrumentation systems across our plant. You will coordinate maintenance activities, projects, and shift teams to minimize downtime, maximize plant availability, and contribute to our mission of building better cities sustainably.
Key Responsibilities- Support the plant in implementing safety improvement plans by auditing electrical safety equipment and ensuring subordinate compliance with safety rules.
- Plan and prioritize repair jobs for motors, transformers, switchgear, VFDs, field instruments, control cards, and PLCs.
- Coordinate maintenance programs and shutdowns according to production needs across the Quarry, VRM, Kiln, and Packing Plant.
- Conduct root cause analysis on repeat failures and establish standards for calibration, testing, and refurbishment processes.
- Manage spare parts, consumables, and budgets for E&I shops while supervising third-party contractors.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with a minimum of 6 years of post-graduate experience in a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of maintenance planning tools, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office applications.
- Exceptional problem-solving abilities, high attention to detail, and a proactive sense of urgency.
