About the Role

The Federal University of Allied Health Sciences Enugu (FUAHSE) was established on March 14, 2024, with the mandate to improve healthcare needs in Nigeria and increase professional manpower output. Evolving from the former Federal College of Dental Technology and Therapy into a dynamic university comprising six faculties and 17 departments, FUAHSE is dedicated to training innovative and skilled healthcare professionals. We are currently seeking a strategic and experienced Assistant Chief Procurement Officer II to lead our procurement unit, ensuring transparency, compliance, and efficiency in all university acquisitions and supply chain operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage and oversee the university's procurement planning, tendering processes, and contract administration in compliance with public procurement acts and institutional guidelines.
  • Collate departmental procurement requests and develop comprehensive annual procurement plans to support academic and administrative operations.
  • Evaluate vendor bids, conduct market research, and negotiate favorable contract terms to ensure optimal value for public funds.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all procurement transactions, inventory records, and supplier performance evaluations.
  • Advise university management on best practices in supply chain management, risk mitigation, and cost-saving strategies.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies, external auditors, and contractors to ensure seamless execution of procurement projects.

Qualifications
  • Possession of a relevant Bachelor's degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) from a recognized institution in Purchasing and Supply, Business Administration, Economics, or a related field.
  • Relevant professional qualifications such as CIPS, ANUPA, or certification from the Public Procurement of Nigeria (BPP) are highly mandatory.
  • Demonstrated progressive years of post-qualification procurement experience, preferably within the Nigerian tertiary education or public sector.
  • Proven competence, unblemished integrity, and exceptional ethical standards in handling public funds.
  • Strong negotiation, analytical, and communication skills with proficiency in modern procurement software.
