We are currently looking for a competent, safety-conscious Argon and Arc Welder to join our growing team. Key Responsibilities- Perform precision Argon (TIG) and Arc (MMA) welding for various maintenance, repair, and fabrication tasks.
- Fabricate and repair industrial machine components, frames, brackets, supports, and structural elements.
- Read, interpret, and work from basic engineering drawings, technical sketches, and specific dimensional requirements.
- Select appropriate welding processes, electrodes, filler materials, and machine parameters for different applications.
- Prepare, clean, align, and position metal components accurately prior to commencing welding activities.
- Inspect completed welds meticulously to ensure proper penetration, high structural strength, and freedom from defects.
- Execute cutting, grinding, drilling, and other essential metal fabrication duties efficiently.
- Maintain all welding machines, cables, gas cylinders, regulators, and tools in optimal working condition.
- Strictly adhere to hot-work procedures, obtain required permits, and implement robust fire-prevention measures.
- Collaborate effectively with maintenance teams during equipment breakdowns, shutdowns, and new installations.
- Minimum of an OND, HND, technical qualification, or relevant vocational/trade certification in Welding, Fabrication, or Mechanical Engineering.
- At least 2 years of demonstrable practical experience in industrial welding and fabrication.
- Hands-on proficiency in both Argon (TIG) and Arc (MMA) welding techniques.
- Strong understanding of industrial safety standards, hot-work protocols, and fire-prevention practices.
- Ability to identify common welding defects and execute corrective measures independently.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
- Must be willing and available to relocate to Ibeju-Lekki.
