About the Role
Sun King is the world's leading off-grid solar energy company, transforming lives across Africa and Asia by making clean energy accessible and affordable. We are looking for a dynamic and results-driven Area Phone Business Manager to join our growing team in Kano, Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead our PayGo phone sales strategy, managing and empowering a network of commission-based agents to drive device financing and market penetration across urban and rural territories.
Key Responsibilities- Recruit, onboard, and train new agents from the open market while motivating the existing Sun King network to sell PayGo phones.
- Drive monthly unit sales targets and increase average agent productivity through coaching, table meetings, and micro-incentives.
- Manage portfolio quality and collections by monitoring customer repayment metrics such as FPD and PAR30, minimizing defaults and repossessions.
- Maintain strict inventory discipline, conducting regular stock audits, reconciliations, and submitting accurate weekly reports.
- Enforce brand standards, compliance policies, and zero tolerance for unethical sales practices in the field.
- Hold a Higher National Diploma (HND) or Bachelor's degree (BSc) in a business-related discipline.
- Possess at least 2 years of hands-on field sales experience, preferably within PayGo, device financing, or agent-network operations.
- Demonstrate deep local market knowledge of Kano and its surrounding urban and rural trade routes.
- Strong digital literacy with proficiency in CRM tools, data management, and reporting systems.
- Excellent relationship-building, problem-solving, and communication skills with a willingness to travel extensively.
