About the Role
Sun King is the world's leading off-grid solar energy company, providing reliable power to over 82 million customers across Africa and Asia. We are currently looking for a motivated and organized professional to join our Risk department as an Area Collections Executive in Afikpo and Abakaliki, Ebonyi State. In this dynamic role, you will drive field collections, enhance customer repayment rates, and support sustainable access to clean energy for rural communities.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs our Area Collections Executive, you will play a crucial role in safeguarding portfolio health while ensuring high customer satisfaction. Your daily and strategic duties will include:
- Assessing regional portfolio and repayment trends to develop daily, weekly, and monthly debt recovery strategies.
- Conducting mystery market visits to evaluate sales quality, gather field insights, and prevent product tampering.
- Providing weekly performance and intervention reports to the Sales and Risk Management teams.
- Collaborating with Area Business Managers and Field Sales Executives to manage product repossessions for severely delinquent accounts.
- Training Field Sales Agents on effective debt collection techniques, repossession protocols, and handling difficult customer interactions.
- Recruiting cash collection centers and establishing critical operational hubs within the territory.
- Identifying and reporting fraudulent practices, misinformed sales, or unauthorized product tampering according to company compliance policies.
To thrive in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and professional attributes:
- Possess a Bachelor Degree or Higher Diploma in Finance, Community Development, Communication, Credit Risk Management, or a related field.
- Bring at least 1 year of practical field experience in credit collections, debt recovery, or working with rural customer settlements.
- Background experience in microfinance, fintech, or commercial banking sectors is highly preferred.
- Demonstrate exceptional communication, interpersonal, issue-tracking, and problem-solving skills.
- Exhibit a strong willingness to work extensively in the field with rural populations.
- Deep familiarity and working knowledge of the Ebonyi territory will serve as a distinct advantage.
