About the Role
Olam Agri is seeking a passionate and technically skilled Aqua Technical Executive to join our dynamic team in Lagos, Nigeria. In this role, you will combine hands-on fish farming expertise with strategic client engagement to drive growth in the aqua feed sector. You will empower local fish farmers with advanced technical knowledge, optimizing productivity and promoting sustainable aquaculture practices across the value chain.
Key Responsibilities- Provide expert technical guidance on best practices in aquaculture, efficient feeding techniques, and species-specific care to fish farmers.
- Act as the primary liaison between Olam Agri and local fish farmers, coordinating aquaculture and fisheries development projects across Nigeria.
- Onboard and activate new aquaculture clients, ensuring seamless integration into our distribution and value chains.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to improve farming operations, product offerings, and overall market productivity.
- Deliver comprehensive technical and logistical support for field-based research, development, and integrated fish farming systems.
- Train and mentor farmers on modern aquaculture techniques while collecting and analyzing field data to drive continuous operational improvements.
- Minimum of a bachelor degree in Fisheries, Aquaculture, or a related field of study; relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
- 3 to 5 years of proven, hands-on experience in aquaculture, ideally within a technical, advisory, or operational role on a commercial farm.
- Strong technical mastery of aquaculture systems, fish health management, and rigorous biosecurity protocols.
- Comprehensive knowledge of the Nigerian aquaculture sector supported by established industry connections.
