About the Role

Helium Health is a premier full-service healthtech company providing innovative SaaS-based electronic medical records and hospital management information systems across emerging markets. We are looking for an expert Antenatal Risk Stratification (ARS) Technical Consultant to lead the clinical and research enhancement of our proprietary risk stratification tool. In this pivotal role, you will expand the tool's application across antenatal, postnatal, newborn, and non-pregnant care phases, ensuring that our platform remains scientifically rigorous, evidence-based, and seamlessly translated into a cutting-edge digital healthcare product for providers in Nigeria and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review, refine, and expand the existing ARS tool questions, risk classification logic, and clinical referral pathways for maternal and newborn care.
  • Design comprehensive research methodologies, study designs, and validation approaches for clinical testing.
  • Lead the preparation and submission of ethical approval applications and research protocols to Institutional Review Boards.
  • Collaborate closely with product, data, and technology teams to ensure accurate digital translation of clinical algorithms and workflows.
  • Author scientific documentation, research reports, and support the preparation of peer-reviewed publications.
  • Provide continuous technical guidance on women's health risk stratification throughout the engagement.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a recognized medical degree with extensive clinical background; specialization in Obstetrics, Gynaecology, or maternal health is strongly preferred.
  • Minimum of 7 years of combined clinical and public health experience focusing heavily on maternal and newborn health.
  • Proven track record in clinical research, study methodology, and scientific writing.
  • Deep understanding of IRB processes and ethical approval requirements for health research.
  • Demonstrated experience in validating clinical decision-support tools or risk-stratification models.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and stakeholder management competencies.
