Key ResponsibilitiesAs an Animal Health Superintendent at UNIBEN, you will provide essential technical support for livestock management and agricultural programs. Your daily duties will include:
- Monitoring the health and well-being of farm animals, livestock, and research subjects.
- Assisting veterinary officers in administering treatments, vaccinations, and routine medical procedures.
- Maintaining accurate records of animal breeding, feeding schedules, and health statuses.
- Ensuring high standards of sanitation, hygiene, and safety within animal housing and agricultural facilities.
- Supervising junior farm staff and participating in practical training sessions for students.
- Managing inventory of animal feed, medications, and equipment required for daily operations.
To be considered for the Animal Health Superintendent position, candidates must meet the following educational and professional requirements:
- West African School Certificate (WASC), SSCE, or its equivalent with at least five (5) credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics.
- A recognized Diploma in Animal Health, Agriculture, Forestry, Husbandry, or Fisheries from an accredited Institute of Agriculture.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a team-oriented academic environment.
- Prior hands-on experience in livestock management or veterinary support will be an added advantage.
