About the Role

Flutterwave is seeking a talented Analytics Engineer to transform raw data into reliable, actionable insights. You'll build and maintain the critical data layer that powers decision-making across our fintech platform, working with cutting-edge tools like dbt, Estuary, and Amazon Redshift. This role offers the opportunity to shape how data flows through one of Africa's most impactful financial technology companies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and maintain modular, tested dbt models spanning staging, intermediate, and mart layers with comprehensive documentation
  • Build and monitor real-time and batch data pipelines using Estuary, managing CDC, schema evolution, and backfills
  • Write optimized SQL and design dimensional models on Amazon Redshift; tune warehouse performance and costs
  • Develop Python automation for transformations, orchestration, custom macros, and API integrations
  • Establish data quality frameworks including tests, freshness checks, monitoring, and CI/CD workflows
  • Maintain semantic layer consistency and single-sourced metric definitions across the organization
  • Collaborate with analysts, data scientists, and business teams to translate requirements into scalable datasets
  • Implement governance, access controls, and data privacy practices aligned with GDPR and SOC 2 compliance

Qualifications
  • 3+ years of analytics engineering, data engineering, or related experience
  • Advanced SQL proficiency including window functions, CTEs, and performance optimization
  • Proven hands-on experience with dbt in production environments
  • Strong Python skills for data workflows and automation
  • Demonstrated expertise with Amazon Redshift and warehouse optimization
  • Experience with ELT/CDC tools such as Estuary, Fivetran, Airbyte, or Kafka
  • Solid understanding of dimensional modeling and star schema design
  • Git version control and CI/CD pipeline familiarity
  • Authorization to work without sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications
  • Real-time streaming and CDC architecture experience
  • Orchestration platforms like Airflow, Dagster, or Prefect
  • BI tools and semantic layers including Looker, Tableau, or Power BI
  • Data observability solutions such as Elementary or Great Expectations
  • AWS ecosystem knowledge covering S3, Glue, and Docker
