Obafemi Awolowo University Teaching Hospitals Complex (OAUTHC), a premier healthcare institution established in 1971, is seeking a dedicated and skilled Anaesthetics Technician to join our professional medical team. Located in Ile-Ife, Osun State, our institution is committed to delivering exceptional patient care, medical education, and innovative research. We are looking for a qualified professional who will play a vital role in supporting our surgical and anaesthetic departments, ensuring the highest standards of safety and efficiency during medical procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, check, and maintain anaesthetic equipment and machinery before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist anaesthetists in the administration and monitoring of anesthesia to patients.
- Ensure the safe handling, sterilization, and storage of all specialized surgical and anaesthetic instruments.
- Monitor patient vital signs and report any anomalies immediately to the medical team.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment usage, patient logs, and medical supplies in the theatre.
- Adhere strictly to hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and professional ethics.
- Candidates must possess a recognized Certificate as an Anaesthetics Technician from an accredited institution.
- Must possess a valid and current practicing license from the relevant regulatory body in Nigeria.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary healthcare environment.
- Strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and high emotional resilience.
