About the Role
Imo Robotic Surgery and Oncology Centre Limited is a pioneering, state-of-the-art medical institution established through a strategic Public-Private Partnership with the Imo State Government. Located at the Imo State Specialist Hospital in Umuguma, Owerri, our facility is poised to become West Africa's premier hub for advanced minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive cancer care. We are seeking a dedicated Anaesthesia Technician to support our expert surgical teams and contribute to our mission of eliminating outbound medical tourism by providing exceptional patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare, check, and maintain anaesthesia machines, monitors, and related equipment before, during, and after surgical procedures.
- Assist anaesthetists with the administration and monitoring of general, regional, and local anaesthesia.
- Ensure a sterile environment and manage the safe handling of medical gases, drugs, and consumables in the operating theatre.
- Monitor patient vital signs continuously during procedures and report any critical changes immediately to the medical team.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of equipment usage, maintenance, and patient anaesthetic logs.
- Comply with all hospital safety protocols, infection control guidelines, and regulatory standards.
- Relevant certification or diploma in Anaesthesia Technology or a related medical discipline from a recognized institution.
- Current professional licensure or practice credentials with the appropriate regulatory body in Nigeria.
- Proven clinical experience working within a busy surgical, theatre, or intensive care environment.
- Strong understanding of modern anaesthetic equipment, pharmacology, and patient safety protocols.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills in high-pressure medical settings.
