About the Role
PalmPay is rapidly building a leading digital financial services ecosystem that brings accessible and secure banking to millions of customers across Nigeria. We are currently looking for a motivated and analytical AML Investigation Analyst to help protect our platform from illicit financial activities. In this role, you will be instrumental in identifying risks, investigating suspicious activities, and ensuring full compliance with regulatory standards to maintain trust across our expanding network of users and partners.
Key Responsibilities- Review and verify customer documentation, executing thorough Customer Due Diligence (CDD) and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) procedures.
- Conduct physical verifications for merchants, businesses, and customers as required by internal and regulatory guidelines.
- Assess and monitor risk profiles for high-risk accounts, Politically Exposed Persons (PEPs), and sanctioned entities.
- Analyze transaction monitoring alerts to detect unusual patterns, velocities, and counterparty risks.
- Investigate flagged transactions comprehensively, document detailed findings, and escalate suspicious cases appropriately.
- Draft accurate investigation reports to support the timely filing of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) with relevant authorities.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Law, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Demonstrated experience in AML/CFT compliance, transaction monitoring, customer due diligence, or financial crime investigations.
- Solid understanding of Nigerian AML/CFT regulatory frameworks and reporting obligations.
- Relevant professional certifications such as CAMS or equivalent compliance credentials are a strong advantage.
- Exceptional analytical, investigative, and report-writing skills with high attention to detail.
