About the Role
SLB is the world’s leading supplier of technology, integrated project management, and information solutions to customers working in the global oil and gas industry. We are currently seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Accounts Receivable (AR) Accountant to join our finance team in Nigeria. In this role, you will support critical accounts receivable and collection activities by ensuring timely cash application, monitoring customer accounts, and delivering accurate reporting on receivables and aging balances to maximize corporate liquidity.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure timely collection of accounts receivable through regular follow-up on assigned accounts in line with departmental objectives.
- Document and review the customer order-to-cash process, proposing opportunities to improve pain points and increase operational efficiency.
- Collect outstanding invoices, gather information on invoice disputes, and create dispute records for swift resolution.
- Input detailed notes in the collection system regarding submission, resubmission, and transaction approval dates for transparent AR status tracking.
- Maintain consistent contact with customer accounts payable departments through collection calls, past due notices, and account statements.
- Ensure strict compliance with company eFinance policies, maintaining proper documentation and audit trails for all transactions.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including the Billing Center of Excellence, Sales, Operations, Tax, and Treasury teams.
- Recommend uncollectable debit balances for expense write-off and review aged credit balances for escheatment policy adherence.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 2 to 3 years of hands-on experience in Accounts Receivables, Credit Control, or a similar finance role.
- Strong understanding of AR processes, collections management, account reconciliation, and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated proficiency in ERP systems and Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is an added advantage.
