About the Role

DAG Industries Nigeria Limited, the authorized distributor and marketer of Bajaj motorcycles and genuine spare parts in Nigeria, is looking for a dedicated Accounts Payable Officer to join our dynamic Finance and Accounts team in Lagos. In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining our financial integrity, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring seamless transaction processing across our operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Receive, verify, code, and process supplier invoices, debit or credit notes, staff advances, reimbursements, and payment requests.
  • Match invoices against purchase orders, goods receipt notes, contracts, and other supporting documentation accurately.
  • Maintain up-to-date vendor ledgers, reconcile supplier statements regularly, and promptly resolve discrepancies or outstanding balances.
  • Ensure appropriate tax documentation and statutory deductions are applied in compliance with Nigerian regulations and company policies.
  • Support month-end closing activities through accrual schedules, open invoice reports, and comprehensive accounts payable reconciliations.
  • Respond professionally to supplier and internal stakeholder queries while escalating payment exceptions or control breaches immediately.
  • Maintain organized, audit-ready financial records to facilitate seamless compliance and management reporting.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 4 to 5 years of relevant professional experience in accounts payable, invoice processing, or vendor reconciliation.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles, financial controls, and Nigerian tax documentation.
  • Prior experience in distribution, manufacturing, automotive, FMCG, or multi-branch operations is a strong advantage.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems and modern accounting software.
  • Part qualification or student membership of ICAN, ACCA, or an equivalent professional body is preferred.
  • Exceptional numerical accuracy, high integrity, strong analytical skills, and effective stakeholder management abilities.
