About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Accountant to join our team in Abuja. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing financial and accounting operations specifically tailored for engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) projects, ensuring optimal cost control and financial accuracy.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day accounting and financial operations for ongoing EPC projects.
- Monitor project costs, budgets, expenses, and overall financial performance.
- Prepare comprehensive project financial reports, statements, and variance cost analyses.
- Process, review, and reconcile vendor invoices, subcontractor payments, receivables, and payables.
- Maintain meticulous records of all project-related financial transactions and commitments.
- Support senior management with project budgeting, accurate forecasting, and cash-flow management.
- Perform regular reconciliations of bank accounts, general ledgers, and dedicated project accounts.
- Ensure strict compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and internal company policies.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field.
- 3 to 5 years of proven accounting experience within an EPC, engineering, construction, oil and gas, or project-based environment.
- Strong working knowledge of project accounting principles, cost control mechanisms, and financial reporting.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting or ERP software.
- Exceptional analytical, numerical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Must currently reside in or be willing to relocate to Abuja for work.
