About the Role
Ascentech Services Limited is acting as a trusted recruitment partner for a reputable manufacturing company in Nigeria, and we are currently seeking a dynamic and analytical Accounts Officer to strengthen their finance department. In this vital role, you will ensure the accuracy of financial records, manage day-to-day accounting operations, and contribute to the overall financial health of the organization.
Key Responsibilities- Process daily financial transactions and maintain accurate accounting records in compliance with company policies.
- Prepare journal entries, invoices, payment schedules, and timely general ledger reconciliations.
- Handle accounts payable and accounts receivable efficiently to ensure optimal cash flow.
- Perform regular bank and petty cash reconciliations with high attention to detail.
- Assist with inventory reconciliation and production costing specific to the manufacturing environment.
- Support statutory compliance activities, including VAT, PAYE, and WHT filings.
- Assist with month-end closing processes and cooperate with external auditors during audits.
- Support the Senior Accountant and finance team with ad-hoc financial reports and duties.
- Possess a Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 to 5 years of proven accounting experience, with mandatory background in the manufacturing industry.
- Solid understanding of general accounting principles and current Nigerian tax regulations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and computerized accounting software.
- Active progress toward ICAN ATS or relevant professional certifications is a distinct advantage.
