About the Role
Islamic Finance Initiative Nigeria (IFING) Media is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic Accounting Intern to join our growing finance team in Nigeria. Founded in 2018, IFING Media is a pioneering creative agency dedicated to promoting Islamic finance and the Halal industry across Africa and beyond through innovative media solutions. As an Accounting Intern, you will work closely with our finance department to support daily accounting operations, financial record-keeping, and reporting processes. This is an exceptional opportunity for a recent graduate or undergraduate student looking to build a solid foundation in accounting while contributing to an economically empowering and mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in recording daily financial transactions, expenses, and revenues accurately in accounting software.
- Help prepare monthly bank reconciliations and verify financial statements against supporting documents.
- Support the finance team in preparing invoices, receipts, and processing vendor payments.
- Organize and maintain physical and digital financial records in compliance with company policies.
- Assist in the preparation of periodic financial reports, budgets, and tax documentation.
- Collaborate with internal teams to track project expenditures and assist with general administrative finance tasks.
- Currently pursuing or recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Basic understanding of fundamental accounting principles, bookkeeping, and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Microsoft Excel.
- Strong analytical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and high levels of integrity.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
- Demonstrated interest in Islamic finance, ethical investing, and the Halal industry is a strong advantage.
