About the Role
The Katsina State Government is seeking a dedicated and qualified professional to fill the position of Accountant II on Grade Level 08 (GL 08). In this role, you will play a crucial part in maintaining accurate financial records, supporting budgetary processes, and ensuring transparency in public sector financial management across the state.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain and update financial ledgers, cash books, and accounting records in compliance with public sector financial regulations.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports and budget estimates.
- Process payments, reconcile bank statements, and ensure proper documentation of all financial transactions.
- Collaborate with internal auditors to facilitate seamless financial audits and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Perform other financial and administrative duties as assigned by the Director of Accounts.
- Possession of a Bachelor Degree in Accountancy from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Must possess a mandatory NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
- Must be an indigene of Katsina State.
- Must be between 18 and 49 years of age.
- Must successfully pass the competitive merit-based recruitment test.
