About the Role
Mertesacker Nigeria Limited, a leading fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sales, marketing, and supply chain distribution powerhouse headquartered in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, is currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Accountant and Credit Control Officer. In this role, you will play a vital part in maintaining our financial integrity, optimizing cash flow, and strengthening relationships with our diverse retail and corporate partners.
Key Responsibilities- Record, track, and reconcile daily sales, receipts, expenses, and general ledger transactions accurately.
- Monitor customer invoices, account balances, due dates, and assigned credit limits to mitigate financial risks.
- Proactively follow up on overdue accounts in close collaboration with the sales team to ensure prompt collections.
- Reconcile customer accounts regularly and investigate payment discrepancies with high attention to detail.
- Generate periodic financial reports to assist management in making informed credit and operational decisions.
- Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 2 years of professional experience in accounting, bookkeeping, or credit control, ideally within the FMCG or distribution sector.
- Demonstrated proficiency in using modern accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Active professional certification such as ICAN or ANAN will be a strong added advantage.
