About the Role
Perez MedCare Hospital is a leading healthcare provider dedicated to promoting general health and well-being by delivering accessible, high-quality medical care for patients of all ages. We are currently seeking a skilled and trustworthy Accountant to join our dynamic team in Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring revenue and expenditures, reconciling accounts, and ensuring strict compliance with financial policies and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial reports, including income statements and expense reports.
- Monitor patient payments, HMO receipts, POS transactions, and bank transfers while reconciling daily revenue.
- Track outstanding HMO claims and follow up on payments to ensure optimal cash flow.
- Verify supporting documents for hospital expenditures, manage petty cash, and track departmental spending.
- Perform regular bank, POS, cash, and ledger reconciliations to investigate and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Assist with payroll preparation, pension contributions, and the remittance of applicable statutory taxes.
- Ensure internal controls are maintained, file financial documents properly, and support internal and external audits.
- Assist management in preparing annual budgets, cash-flow forecasts, and financial performance analyses.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven accounting experience, preferably within the healthcare or HMO sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Strong knowledge of Nigerian financial regulations, tax laws, and statutory compliance.
- Exceptional analytical skills with high attention to detail and strong organizational capabilities.
- High level of integrity, trustworthiness, and ability to meet strict reporting deadlines with minimal supervision.
