About the Role
GVA Partners is a leading business advisory, market intelligence, and recruitment services firm committed to helping organizations achieve their growth aspirations. We are currently looking for a dedicated and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with local tax laws, and providing actionable financial insights to support management decision-making.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain accurate books of accounts and ensure proper recording of all daily financial transactions.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards.
- Manage statutory obligations and ensure timely remittance of PAYE, VAT, WHT, CIT, Pension, NSITF, and ITF.
- Perform bank, vendor, and general ledger reconciliations to safeguard the integrity of financial records.
- Prepare, monitor, and analyse operational budgets, cash flow forecasts, and working capital requirements.
- Coordinate annual audits and collaborate seamlessly with external auditors, tax consultants, and regulatory authorities.
- Develop and implement robust internal controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures across the organization.
- Bachelor Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Mandatory professional certification (ICAN or ACCA).
- 4 to 7 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within a tax consulting, audit, or professional services firm.
- Strong practical knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and modern accounting software or ERP systems.
