About the Role
Payzeep is a dynamic fintech platform empowering individuals, SMEs, and organizations to seamlessly make, receive, and process payments. We are currently looking for a detail-oriented and driven Accountant to join our finance team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing statutory reports, and driving financial efficiency to support our company mission across Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Review financial statements for accuracy and legal compliance while preparing and filing tax returns.
- Perform bank reconciliations, maintain fixed assets, and ensure proper coding of cash receipts and transfers.
- Prepare balance sheet and profit and loss account reconciliations alongside monthly variance analyses.
- Set and execute year-end accounting close activities and support annual financial and regulatory audits.
- Collaborate with Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, IT, and finance teams to drive revenue initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of proven general accounting experience, preferably within the Nigerian fintech or tech sector.
- Active membership or certification with relevant professional bodies such as the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria (ICAN) is highly desirable.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including complex formulas like XLOOKUP, SUMIFS, and Pivot Tables.
- Strong analytical, communication, and account reconciliation skills.
