About the Role
At OBIDA, original African prints become clothing handcrafted in Nigeria. We are seeking a dedicated and analytical Accountant to keep our books reliable and make the true value and cost of every piece visible, from raw materials to finished stock. Working closely with our Finance, Operations, and Production teams, you will help the business understand its margins, track inventory accurately, and resolve stock discrepancies in a fast-paced fashion manufacturing environment. This is an on-site role based in Lagos, requiring regular physical stock checks and hands-on ledger management.
Key Responsibilities- Process payables, track receivables, and reconcile bank, cash, and payment accounts accurately.
- Cost raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods down to the individual SKU level.
- Coordinate weekly cycle counts and monthly stock reconciliations alongside the Operations team.
- Investigate stock variances thoroughly and track waste, Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), and gross margins.
- Deliver comprehensive monthly books, inventory reports, and supporting records for timely financial filings.
- Perform separate-entity bookkeeping and maintain ledger reconciliations across channels.
- BSc or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- 4 to 8 years of proven accounting experience, preferably within fashion, retail, or manufacturing sectors.
- Strong hands-on expertise in inventory accounting, SKU-level product costing, and stock variance investigation.
- Proficiency in separate-entity bookkeeping, ledger reconciliations, and spreadsheet-based reporting.
- Familiarity with accounting software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) inventory records.
- Professional certification such as ICAN or ACCA is highly preferred.
- Prior experience with ERP implementation is an added advantage.
- Collaborate directly with the Finance Lead, Operations, and Production teams to investigate stock differences and uphold financial integrity.
