About the Role
Smart Energies is a pioneering, technology-driven platform transforming the way consumers purchase cooking gas in Nigeria. We are seeking a detail-oriented, driven Accountant to ensure the accurate, timely, and compliant management of our financial records, statutory obligations, and financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities- Maintain complete and accurate books of account in accordance with IFRS and Nigerian tax laws.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, balance sheets, cash flow statements, and comprehensive variance analysis.
- Handle tax computations, filings, and remittances including VAT, WHT, PAYE, and Company Income Tax.
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, treasury functions, payroll support, and inventory tracking.
- Coordinate annual external audits, enforce internal controls, and provide insightful financial analysis to support leadership.
- Bachelor Degree (B.Sc./HND) in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline with a minimum of Second Class Lower or Upper Credit.
- Active ACA or FCA membership in good standing with ICAN or ANAN.
- Minimum of 5 years of post-qualification finance experience, including at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory capacity within a fast-paced SME.
- Proficiency in modern accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
