About the Role
Vestates Limited, a premier real estate and property management company established in 2013, is seeking a skilled and dynamic Account Officer to join our growing team in Abuja. In this pivotal role, you will oversee financial operations, reporting, compliance, and internal controls across multiple business lines, including our real estate portfolio, 365 (Oil & Gas), and Apex (Hospitality). We are looking for a dedicated finance professional who can ensure absolute accuracy, robust cash flow management, and sound financial governance across diverse, high-volume transactional industries.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee daily financial transactions, general ledger maintenance, and cash flow management for multiple business entities.
- Supervise cashiers and finance support staff, reviewing daily sales reports, expense postings, and reconciliations.
- Prepare comprehensive monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements alongside insightful management reports.
- Design, implement, and monitor robust internal financial controls, segregation of duties, and fraud risk mitigation procedures.
- Manage accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and statutory tax filings including VAT and Withholding Tax in compliance with Nigerian regulations.
- Coordinate intercompany transactions, budget tracking, variance analysis, and support external audits.
- Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualifications such as ICAN, ACCA, or ACA will be a strong added advantage.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant accounting and finance experience, ideally managing finances across multiple business units or high-volume sectors like Oil & Gas or Hospitality.
- Thorough working knowledge of Nigerian tax laws, statutory obligations, and financial reporting standards.
- Proficiency in modern accounting software, ERP systems, and advanced Microsoft Excel.
- Exceptional analytical skills, high integrity, and a proven ability to lead and mentor junior finance team members.
