About the Role
Busybees & West Mills British School, a premier private educational institution located in the vibrant Apapa area of Lagos, Nigeria, is seeking a passionate and dedicated A Level Teacher of Biology. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping the academic success of our students by delivering engaging, rigorous, and inspiring lessons that prepare them for international examinations and future careers in the sciences.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality A Level Biology lessons in accordance with the British curriculum standards.
- Create a stimulating, inclusive, and well-managed laboratory and classroom environment that fosters curiosity and critical thinking.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and targeted support to ensure excellent academic outcomes.
- Prepare students thoroughly for external examinations through effective revision strategies, mock exams, and practical assessments.
- Maintain accurate records of student attendance, performance, and behavioral development in line with school policies.
- Participate actively in departmental meetings, school events, professional development workshops, and parent-teacher conferences.
- Bachelor's degree in Biology, Education, or a related scientific discipline from a recognized institution (Master's degree is an added advantage).
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of proven experience teaching Biology at the A Level or advanced secondary school level.
- In-depth knowledge of the British curriculum and contemporary science teaching methodologies.
- Strong classroom management skills with the ability to engage and motivate students.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities.
- Valid certification in education or teaching license is highly desirable.
