About the Role

Nasom Limited, a leading indigenous Oilfield Services Provider and EPCM company in Nigeria, is currently seeking a dedicated and competent 3rd Engineer to join our growing marine logistics fleet. We pride ourselves on operational excellence, safety compliance, and delivering world-class engineering solutions across the oil and gas sector. As a vital member of our engine department, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of vessel machinery and equipment during maritime voyages and offshore operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the Chief Engineer and Second Engineer in the safe and efficient operation of all main engines, auxiliary machinery, and shipboard systems.
  • Perform routine maintenance, servicing, and repairs on mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment in accordance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Monitor machinery performance, record operational data, and report any anomalies or potential failures promptly to senior engineering officers.
  • Ensure strict compliance with international maritime regulations, environmental policies, and company safety management systems.
  • Participate actively in emergency drills, firefighting operations, and pollution prevention procedures onboard the vessel.
  • Maintain proper logs of engine room activities, fuel consumption, and spare parts inventory.
Qualifications
  • Possession of a recognized maritime certification and a valid Certificate of Competency (CoC).
  • Up-to-date and valid STCW certification meeting international standards.
  • Demonstrated sea-going experience working within an engine room department on commercial or offshore support vessels.
  • Valid medical fitness certificate and offshore safety documentation.
  • Strong understanding of marine engineering principles, safety protocols, and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural team environment and adapt to demanding offshore schedules.
