About the Role
Aster Bloom Academy is a top-tier private educational institution located in the prestigious Government Reserved Area (GRA) of Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. Following our official rebranding from Chucklers Heights Montessori and our strategic transition to a newly developed permanent site with an operational expansion into secondary education, we are seeking a passionate and qualified Yoruba Language Teacher. In this role, you will play a vital part in shaping students' linguistic abilities and deepening their appreciation of Yoruba culture, literature, and traditions within a modern, supportive academic environment.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging Yoruba language and literature lessons aligned with the approved Nigerian secondary school curriculum.
- Develop comprehensive lesson plans that cater to diverse learning styles and promote active student participation.
- Assess and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback and maintaining accurate academic records.
- Create an inclusive, culturally rich, and disciplined classroom environment that encourages fluent communication in Yoruba.
- Participate in school cultural events, extracurricular activities, and departmental meetings to promote indigenous languages.
- Collaborate with colleagues and school administration to support the holistic development of students.
- Bachelor of Arts in Yoruba, Yoruba Education, or a related field (NCE in Yoruba is also acceptable).
- Proven teaching experience in a recognized primary or secondary educational institution.
- Deep knowledge of Yoruba grammar, literature, cultural heritage, and modern pedagogical teaching methods.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and classroom management skills.
