About the Role

We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Workshop / Field Engineer I to join our Dangote Sugar Refinery (DSR) operations in Numan, Adamawa State. In this critical role, you will be responsible for ensuring that all workshop and field maintenance operations are executed to the highest standards, maximizing machinery uptime and supporting our production goals.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate all maintenance work using PM module and fleet tracking reports to ensure tasks are completed within established timeframes.
- Monitor superintendent day-to-day target performances and report efficiency metrics to the Department HOD.
- Maintain high equipment availability for operations in the field and factory cane yard.
- Troubleshoot complex maintenance problems quickly and recommend effective corrective actions for unresolved issues.
- Review daily intervention and breakdown reports from superintendents and submit final assessments to the HOD.
- Coordinate incoming maintenance tasks with existing workloads while ensuring compliance with safety and inspection standards.
- Monitor daily spare consumption records and store issuances to ensure optimal stock utilization and OEM compliance.
- Perform random performance checks on equipment and inspect machinery before delivery from the workshop.
- Supervise mechanical superintendents and supervisors to verify that OEM-recommended maintenance activities are strictly maintained.
- Update the PM module with mechanical data, review daily logs, and generate resource utilization reports for management.
- Minimum of an HND or B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Possession of relevant professional certifications will be an added advantage.
- 5 to 7 years of proven field experience in machinery, harvester, and heavy machine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting.
- Strong competencies in effective communication, people management, conflict resolution, and project management.
