About the Role
News Central TV is a dynamic, fearless broadcast media organization dedicated to amplifying unheard voices and transforming societal conversations across Nigeria. We are currently looking for a skilled Vision Mixer to join our vibrant production team. In this role, you will be responsible for executing the visual narrative of live television broadcasts by seamlessly switching between multiple camera feeds, digital assets, and remote sources in real time. Operating in a high-pressure environment, you will collaborate closely with directors and producers to deliver an engaging viewer experience that meets our rigorous broadcast standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate the vision mixing and switching console during live news, breaking news, talk shows, sports, and recorded productions.
- Execute director and producer instructions promptly to ensure smooth transitions between video sources, graphics, and remote feeds.
- Manage the keying and layering of on-screen elements including lower thirds, captions, logos, and graphics.
- Monitor incoming video feeds continuously to verify proper picture quality, framing, color balance, and signal availability.
- Conduct thorough pre-broadcast equipment checks and maintain accurate communication with the production team via intercom systems.
- Identify and report technical faults or equipment malfunctions promptly to maintain compliance with broadcast standards.
- Participate in flexible shift duties, including nights, weekends, and public holidays, to support our 24-hour broadcast operations.
- Minimum of OND, HND, or Bachelor's Degree in Mass Communication, Television Production, Broadcasting, Media Technology, or a related field.
- 2 to 5 years of proven professional experience as a Vision Mixer, Technical Director, or similar broadcast production role.
- Demonstrated practical expertise in operating professional vision mixing and switching consoles.
- Familiarity with broadcast equipment and software such as Ross, Grass Valley, Sony, Blackmagic Design, or Vizrt is a strong advantage.
