Key Responsibilities- Provide comprehensive veterinary medical care, diagnosis, and treatment for livestock and domestic animals across designated zones in Katsina State.
- Implement state-wide disease surveillance, vaccination programs, and preventive healthcare strategies to safeguard animal populations.
- Enforce veterinary public health standards, meat inspection protocols, and animal quarantine regulations at abattoirs and markets.
- Collaborate with local farmers, agricultural extension workers, and stakeholders to promote best practices in animal husbandry and livestock management.
- Maintain accurate medical records, compile periodic epidemiological reports, and advise government authorities on animal health policies.
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from a recognized and accredited institution.
- Must be fully registered and hold a valid practicing license with the Veterinary Council of Nigeria (VCN).
- Must possess a mandatory National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) discharge certificate or exemption letter.
- Must be an indigenous citizen of Katsina State, aged between 18 and 49 years.
- Must successfully pass the state merit-based recruitment examination and screening process.
