About the Role
Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) is actively recruiting a dedicated Utility Operator for a premier Oil & Gas and Fertilizer production facility in Nigeria. In this role, you will oversee critical utility generation and distribution systems that feed the primary ammonia synthesis process, ensuring zero plant trips and adherence to strict safety standards.
Key Responsibilities- Operate, monitor, and optimize high, medium, and low-pressure boiler systems, water treatment, cooling towers, and air compressors via DCS and field panels.
- Ensure continuous utility supply and maintain strict steam balance for reformers and compressors while minimizing emissions.
- Manage asset integrity, execute emergency shutdowns when necessary, and utilize computerized maintenance management systems for tracking work orders.
- Enforce strict HSE policies, Life-Saving Rules, and participate actively in hazard identifications and safety toolbox talks.
- OND, HND, or B.Eng/B.Sc in Mechanical, Chemical, or Power Plant Engineering, or a recognized technical certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on operational experience as a panel or field operator in utility, power, or petrochemical plants.
- Strong understanding of thermodynamics, steam and water cycles, combustion principles, and DCS control systems.
- Valid HSE certifications and familiarity with process safety management and high-pressure boiler operations.
