About the Role

We are currently looking for a diligent Underwriting Specialist to join our growing team and help safeguard our credit portfolio through meticulous analysis and risk assessment.
Key Responsibilities- Review loan applications and supporting documents thoroughly to verify the accuracy and authenticity of customer information.
- Identify inconsistencies, unusual patterns, and potential credit risks that may impact loan performance.
- Contact applicants directly and utilize digital verification tools to clarify information when necessary.
- Process loan applications promptly to ensure adherence to internal service level agreements and turnaround times.
- Deliver comprehensive risk assessments and actionable recommendations regarding loan approvals or declinations.
- Apply company credit policies, risk guidelines, and operational procedures consistently across all evaluations.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in finance, accounting, economics, or any relevant discipline.
- Successful completion of the mandatory NYSC programme.
- Strong attention to detail with exceptional analytical and critical thinking capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
- Basic computer proficiency and familiarity with digital financial tools and databases.
