About the Role

The Association for Reproductive and Family Health (ARFH) is one of Nigeria's leading indigenous non-profit organizations committed to improving the quality of life in underserved communities through robust health interventions. We are currently seeking a dynamic and dedicated Tuberculosis Technical Advisor to provide high-level expert guidance on TB, DR-TB, and TB-HIV collaborative activities. In this critical role, you will champion national health strategies, mentor healthcare professionals, and drive impactful community-based initiatives aligned with WHO and national standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert technical leadership on Tuberculosis, DR-TB, and TB-HIV case finding, diagnosis, and treatment in alignment with national and WHO guidelines.
  • Support the scale-up of active case finding, contact tracing, community-based DOTS, and innovative screening using Portable Digital Chest X-Ray and GeneXpert technologies.
  • Design, coordinate, and optimize TB/HIV collaborative activities, ensuring 100% treatment coverage, TPT implementation, and effective infection control.
  • Capacity building through the training, mentoring, and supportive supervision of healthcare workers, program staff, and local civil society organizations.
  • Collaborate closely with the National TB Program, Ministry of Health, and relevant stakeholders to review policies, guidelines, and standard operating procedures.
  • Strengthen monitoring and evaluation systems by utilizing tools like RADET and DHIS2, ensuring accurate data harmonization, technical reporting, and documentation of best practices.
  • Lead advocacy efforts, contribute to strategic work plans, and provide technical input for new grant proposals and fundraising initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree from a recognized institution.
  • Master’s Degree in Public Health or a closely related field.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of progressive professional experience in managing comprehensive TB and HIV programs in Nigeria.
  • Demonstrated expertise in capacity building, stakeholder engagement, and translating national health policies into impactful field practices.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multicultural teams and work effectively under pressure.
  • High emotional intelligence, mental stability, and a proven commitment to organizational vision and mission.
