About the Role
The African Medical Centre of Excellence (AMCE) Abuja is a premier 500-bed specialty hospital dedicated to transforming healthcare across the continent through advanced diagnostics, oncology, and comprehensive medical services. Developed by Afreximbank in clinical partnership with King's College Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, we are seeking a dedicated Therapeutic Radiographer to join our multidisciplinary oncology team and provide exceptional, compassionate care to patients with cancer and blood disorders.
Key Responsibilities- Administer precise radiation therapy treatments using advanced equipment in accordance with established oncological protocols.
- Accurately position patients and utilize immobilization devices to ensure optimal dose delivery while maintaining strict radiation safety guidelines.
- Perform daily quality assurance (QA) checks, calibrate equipment, and collaborate with medical physicists to validate treatment plans.
- Provide comprehensive patient education, explaining procedures and managing side effects with a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Maintain accurate electronic medical records (EMR), document treatment parameters, and support clinical audits and research initiatives.
- Work closely with oncologists, nurses, and medical physicists in multidisciplinary tumor board meetings to optimize patient outcomes.
- Bachelor’s degree in Radiography or a related field with a primary focus on therapeutic radiography.
- Current and valid professional licensure and registration as a Therapeutic Radiographer.
- Strong understanding of radiation physics, dosimetry, radiobiology, and ALARA safety principles.
- Advanced certifications or specialized training in oncology radiography are highly preferred.
