About the Role
Amy Consulting is currently recruiting a skilled and compassionate Theatre Nurse on behalf of our esteemed healthcare client. In this vital role, you will work closely with surgeons, anesthetists, and multidisciplinary medical teams to deliver seamless surgical care within a fast-paced hospital environment on the Lagos Mainland.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare operating theatres, surgical instruments, and necessary medical supplies for various surgical procedures.
- Assist surgeons and anesthetists during operations, ensuring strict adherence to aseptic techniques and infection control.
- Monitor patients' vital signs and responses throughout surgery and the immediate recovery phase.
- Maintain accurate and confidential medical records of surgical procedures, equipment use, and patient care.
- Ensure proper sterilization, handling, and storage of surgical instruments and sterile materials.
- Provide comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative care, emotional support, and patient education.
- Collaborate effectively with all members of the healthcare team to promote optimal patient outcomes.
- Uphold hospital policies, safety standards, and strict regulatory compliance at all times.
- Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid and current practicing license from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN).
- Post-basic qualification or specialized certification in Perioperative or Theatre Nursing is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 2 years of active clinical experience as a Theatre Nurse in a reputable hospital.
- Strong working knowledge of surgical procedures, sterilization techniques, and infection control protocols.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and critical thinking skills with high emotional intelligence.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and decisive in high-pressure medical emergencies.
- Must reside on the Lagos Mainland, with close proximity to Surulere considered a strong advantage.
