About the Role

Myrtle Management Consultants is partnering with industry leaders to deliver outstanding maritime operational excellence. We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Technical Superintendent to oversee the technical supervision and maintenance of our OSV vessels. In this vital shore-based role, you will ensure our fleet operates safely, reliably, and efficiently while strictly adhering to statutory, class, and company requirements. You will collaborate closely with Chief Engineers, internal departments, and external partners to maximize vessel availability and minimize operational downtime across our Nigerian operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the comprehensive technical performance, routine OPEX maintenance, and planned CAPEX activities for assigned vessels.
  • Ensure full compliance with company QHSE standards and coordinate closely with Classification Societies for surveys and certifications.
  • Control and optimize vessel OPEX/CAPEX budgets while maintaining high technical availability and cost discipline.
  • Coordinate all maintenance, repairs, and technical interventions to guarantee timely completion and reduce off-hire time.
  • Validate purchase requisitions for vessel parts, spares, and consumables to ensure prompt onboard delivery.
  • Maintain accurate Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS) records and monitor routine lube oil analyses.
  • Prepare vessels for dry-docking and ensure all shipyard work scopes are completed within approved timelines.
  • Supervise vessel take-over, handover, and transfer activities, including thorough inventory checks and documentation.

Qualifications
  • Degree in Marine Engineering and/or a valid Certificate of Competency (CoC) Class 1 (Chief Engineer).
  • Strong sailing background as a Chief Engineer or Second Engineer, preferably aboard OSVs and PSVs.
  • Minimum of 2 to 4 years of proven experience as a shore-based Technical Superintendent managing a multi-vessel fleet.
  • High proficiency in using CMMS platforms, managing complex dry-docking projects, and handling technical reporting.
  • Demonstrated expertise in technical procurement, budget management, and interfacing with shipyards and class societies.
