About the Role
Kimberly Ryan is looking for a skilled Technical Superintendent to serve as the day-to-day technical lead for our client's five-vessel fleet in Nigeria. In this pivotal role, you will drive operational excellence by overseeing vessel maintenance, repairs, technical procurement, and regulatory compliance to deliver a distinct business advantage for our clients across the maritime sector.
Key Responsibilities- Manage day-to-day technical operations, planned maintenance, and defect rectification for the five-vessel fleet.
- Supervise contractors, coordinate dry-docking activities, and oversee major ship repairs.
- Handle technical procurement, manage maintenance budgets, and optimize onboard technical systems.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety standards, environmental regulations, and vetting requirements.
- Coordinate seamlessly with class and flag authorities while managing key operational stakeholders.
- Minimum of two years served at Chief Engineer level, or three years as Second Engineer while holding a Class 1 (Motor) certificate.
- At least 10 years of progressive experience as a certificated officer in the engine department of tankers or comparable vessels.
- Valid Certificate of Competency as Chief Engineer Officer (STCW III/2, Class 1 Motor) or Second Engineer (STCW III/2) with a clear route to Class 1.
- Demonstrable command of medium-speed diesel machinery relevant to vessels within the 1,200 to 17,000 DWT range.
