About the Role

TAAS College, a reputable co-educational institution established in the Islamic tradition at Apata, Ibadan, is seeking a passionate and qualified Technical Drawing Teacher to join our esteemed academic team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping students' technical competencies by delivering high-quality instruction in Technical Drawing and Basic Technology across secondary school levels, ensuring both theoretical understanding and practical proficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach Technical Drawing and Basic Technology effectively across appropriate secondary school levels.
  • Prepare engaging lesson plans, instructional materials, practical activities, tests, and examinations.
  • Demonstrate and supervise practical skills, technical drawing exercises, and workshop-related activities.
  • Utilize appropriate teaching methods and educational technology to enhance student comprehension and academic performance.
  • Assess student progress meticulously and maintain accurate records of results and continuous assessments.
  • Prepare students adequately for internal and external examinations.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and functional technical drawing and workshop learning environment.
  • Identify individual learning needs and provide targeted academic support.
  • Participate actively in departmental meetings, school activities, clubs, and projects.
  • Collaborate seamlessly with colleagues and school management to achieve institutional academic goals.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent in Technical Education, Technical Drawing, Basic Technology, Engineering Education, or a related field.
  • 4 to 7 years of relevant teaching experience in Technical Drawing and Basic Technology.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Nigerian secondary school curriculum and examination standards.
  • Proven ability to instruct both theoretical and practical aspects of technical subjects.
  • Exceptional classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in computer usage and relevant educational or technical software.
  • High level of commitment, responsibility, innovation, and passion for student development.
  • Residency in Ibadan or proximity allowing reasonable daily commute to the school premises.
