About the Role
First Bank of Nigeria Limited is seeking a visionary and results-driven Team Lead, Data Engineering to direct our data engineering initiatives. In this pivotal role, you will lead a world-class team of data engineers to deliver robust, enterprise-grade data platforms and pipelines that power Nigeria's premier financial services institution.
Key Responsibilities- Direct, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of data engineers to deliver scalable data platforms.
- Architect high-performance solutions for structured and unstructured data across hybrid and multi-cloud environments.
- Lead the implementation of CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure-as-code, containerization, and automated testing.
- Ensure all data solutions adhere to global privacy regulations, security frameworks, and bank compliance policies.
- Collaborate with analytics leaders and product owners to translate complex business requirements into technical deliverables.
- Manage production support, incident response, disaster recovery, and continuous operational improvement.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field; Master’s or relevant certifications preferred.
- 8+ years of progressive experience in data engineering or architecture, with at least 2 years in a technical leadership role.
- Proven expertise in modern data stack technologies such as Spark, Kafka, Snowflake, Databricks, and Airflow.
- Deep programming proficiency in Python, Java, or Scala alongside strong DevOps and CI/CD capabilities.
