About the Role
Imo Robotic Surgery and Oncology Centre Limited is a pioneering, state-of-the-art medical institution established through a strategic Public-Private Partnership (PPP) with the Imo State Government. Located at the Imo State Specialist Hospital in Umuguma, Owerri, our facility is poised to become West Africa's premier hub for advanced minimally invasive surgery and comprehensive cancer care. We are seeking a dedicated Support Worker and Laundry Assistant to join our professional team and ensure the highest standards of hygiene and patient care support within our cutting-edge environment.
Key Responsibilities- Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and iron hospital linens, patient garments, and staff uniforms according to established infection control standards.
- Operate commercial laundry equipment safely and efficiently, performing routine maintenance checks as required.
- Inspect all laundered items for stains, tears, or damage and coordinate necessary repairs or replacements.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe laundry work area in compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Assist nursing and support staff with general facility duties and patient support tasks when needed.
- Manage inventory of laundry supplies and report shortages to the administrative team promptly.
- Minimum of OND, SSCE, or relevant academic qualification from a recognized institution.
- Proven work experience as a laundry assistant or support worker, preferably within a hospital or healthcare environment.
- Strong understanding of infection control protocols and health safety standards in medical settings.
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to operate commercial laundry machinery.
- Good communication skills and a strong sense of reliability and teamwork.
- Reside in or be willing to relocate to Owerri, Imo State.
