About the Role
Save the Children International is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Supply Chain Officer to oversee and optimize our supply chain operations at the sub-office level in Nigeria. In this critical role, you will ensure the timely, cost-effective procurement and delivery of essential goods and services, manage warehousing and stock, and oversee fleet management in full compliance with organizational and donor guidelines. By facilitating efficient logistical support, you will directly empower our programs dedicated to improving maternal, newborn, and child health across northern Nigeria.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee end-to-end procurement requirements for the Field Office, ensuring strict adherence to approved guidelines, procedures, and internal control documentation.
- Manage and update the field-level procurement and contract trackers regularly to maintain operational transparency.
- Monitor logistics support costs in close collaboration with the Field Accountant to guarantee expenditures remain strictly within approved budgets.
- Ensure all procurement, logistics, and supply chain activities comply fully with Save the Children safeguarding policies to protect children and vulnerable individuals.
- Maintain comprehensive communication protocols, manage security incident reporting, and ensure the safety of all field office equipment and supplies.
- Coordinate closely with finance, administration, and program teams to foster operational efficiency and strong team collaboration.
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as Supply Chain, Business Administration, or Logistics.
- Minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC professional experience in supply chain, procurement, contracting, or related operational fields.
- Demonstrated field-level experience in logistics management for INGOs within international development or emergency programs.
- Familiarity with key institutional donors and their specific compliance requirements regarding logistics and procurement.
- Strong computer literacy, including advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Exceptional interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and organizational skills with high attention to detail for audit compliance.
