About the Role
Sterling Oil Exploration & Energy Production Company Limited (SEEPCO) is a major player in petroleum exploration and production, operating across multiple continents with a strong footprint in Nigeria. We are seeking a dedicated and specialized Storage Operator to join our integrated Ammonia and Urea production facility. In this critical role, you will take full ownership of the Ammonia Tank Farm, Vapor Recovery Systems, and Product Loading/Unloading Racks, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant storage and distribution of liquid ammonia.
Key Responsibilities- Operate and optimize pressurized and refrigerated ammonia storage tanks while strictly monitoring temperature, pressure, and inventory levels.
- Manage Boil-Off Gas (BOG) recovery systems and vapor return lines to minimize product loss and maintain environmental compliance.
- Execute safe loading and unloading operations via truck, rail, or marine jetties while utilizing custody transfer metering systems accurately.
- Implement the facility's Asset Integrity Management System, monitoring corrosion rates and coordinating statutory tank inspections.
- Enforce company life-saving rules, Permit to Work procedures, and respond effectively to emergency containment scenarios.
- HND, B.Eng, or B.Sc in Chemical, Mechanical, or Gas Engineering, or equivalent technical certification.
- Minimum of 5 years of hands-on operational experience as a panel or field operator in a tank farm or hazardous chemical storage facility.
- Strong working knowledge of custody transfer principles, thermodynamics of liquefied gases, and DCS/SCADA systems.
- Valid HSE certifications, Process Safety Management awareness, and relevant hazardous area qualifications.
