We are seeking a dynamic, competent, and enthusiastic Social and Citizenship Studies Teacher to make lessons relevant, engaging, and deeply connected to our students' everyday lives. The successful candidate will empower students with essential knowledge regarding citizenship, rights and responsibilities, national values, social relationships, governance, leadership, and community development while fostering critical thinking and responsible societal participation.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging Social and Citizenship Studies lessons aligned with the approved curriculum.
- Teach civic responsibilities, rights and duties, national values, leadership, and governance.
- Promote core values such as respect, honesty, integrity, discipline, tolerance, and service.
- Encourage an appreciation for Nigeria's cultural diversity and foster strong national unity.
- Develop students' critical thinking through structured discussions, debates, and research activities.
- Prepare instructional materials, lesson plans, classwork, assignments, and examinations.
- Assess student progress accurately and prepare learners effectively for internal and external exams.
- Maintain effective classroom management to create a respectful, inclusive, and safe learning environment.
- Participate actively in school programmes, co-curricular events, assemblies, and civic clubs.
- Collaborate professionally with colleagues, school management, and parents to support student success.
- Bachelor's Degree in Social Studies, Political Science, Sociology, Education, History, or a related field.
- Recognized teaching qualification and valid TRCN certification (or eligibility for registration).
- Proven teaching experience within a secondary school environment.
- Deep understanding of the Nigerian Social Studies and Civic Education curriculum.
