About the Role

Moniepoint is a financial technology company digitising Africa's real economy by building a comprehensive financial ecosystem for businesses, providing payment, banking, credit, and business management tools. We are currently looking for a dynamic and driven Settlement and Liquidity Officer to join our lean, high-output Treasury function in Nigeria. In this role, you will be responsible for managing daily settlement processes across multiple accounts and ensuring optimal liquidity positioning to meet the firm's funding and payment obligations. You will operate with minimal supervision, manage key stakeholder relationships, and contribute to our income and cost-efficiency objectives from day one.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the end-to-end settlement of funds across major accounts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Proactively monitor and resolve pending or failed settlements, escalating issues where necessary.
  • Ensure correct capture and instruction of trade data into settlement systems.
  • Collaborate with counterparties, Operations, and IT to investigate and resolve settlement failures.
  • Own end-of-day reconciliations and produce clear, accurate settlement reports.
  • Monitor and forecast daily cash positions, identifying risks and opportunities proactively.
  • Coordinate intra-day liquidity to meet funding and settlement obligations seamlessly.
  • Optimize the use of internal and external liquidity lines to minimize idle balances and avoid overdrafts.
  • Provide structured input on short-term investment and funding strategies to the Treasury Lead.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 to 3 years of professional experience in settlement operations, treasury, or liquidity management.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial instruments and clearing or settlement cycles.
  • Hands-on familiarity with NIBSS, RTGS, NEFT, switching processes, and local settlement platforms.
  • Advanced Excel proficiency and working knowledge of treasury management systems.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and independent execution capabilities.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
