About the Role
ARCO Group is looking for a dedicated and skilled Senior Tax Officer to join our dynamic finance team in Nigeria. In this role, you will play a crucial part in leading our tax compliance, planning, advisory, and risk-management activities. You will ensure full adherence to applicable Nigerian tax laws and industry requirements while supporting efficient tax management across our contracts, projects, subsidiaries, and overall business operations.
Key Responsibilities- Lead the Group’s overall tax compliance, planning, and advisory functions in alignment with Nigerian tax laws.
- Manage corporate tax, Value Added Tax (VAT), withholding tax, and other statutory obligations efficiently.
- Handle tax audits, assessments, and regulatory correspondence with relevant tax authorities professionally.
- Identify and mitigate tax risks while optimizing tax positions for various business operations and projects.
- Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to ensure accurate financial reporting and regulatory adherence.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Law, or a related discipline.
- 3 to 5 years of relevant tax experience, with specific knowledge of oil and gas, oilfield services, engineering, or construction industry taxation.
- Professional certification such as ICAN, ACCA, CITN, or another relevant body is strongly preferred.
- Strong, demonstrable knowledge of Nigerian tax statutes, regulatory frameworks, and compliance procedures.
