About the Role
Basic Foundation International School (BFIS) is a premier co-educational private institution located in Aba, Abia State, Nigeria, providing world-class education from early childhood through secondary levels. We are currently expanding our academic team and looking for a dynamic, knowledgeable, and certified Senior Secondary (SSS) Physics Teacher to inspire our students, foster critical thinking, and drive exceptional performance in internal and external examinations.
Key Responsibilities- Plan and deliver engaging, tech-integrated Physics lessons aligned with the NERDC curriculum, WASSCE, and NECO syllabi.
- Conduct weekly laboratory experiments, teaching students proper apparatus setup, reading accuracy, and WAEC/NECO practical report writing.
- Design, administer, and grade assessments to objectively track student progress and maintain accurate academic records.
- Lead intensive past-question drills and continuous assessments targeting JAMB (UTME), WAEC, and NECO success.
- Support or lead science clubs such as the JETS Club and coordinate student participation in local and national competitions.
- Collaborate with colleagues and communicate effectively with parents during PTA meetings to support diverse learners.
- B.Sc.Ed or B.Ed in Physics, OR a B.Sc/B.Eng in Physics or Engineering with a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE).
- Mandatory TRCN registration or willingness to obtain it.
- Minimum of 4 years of active SSS classroom teaching experience with a proven track record of excellent WAEC and NECO results.
- Prior experience as a WAEC/NECO examiner or familiarity with the British Curriculum is an added advantage.
- Deep mastery of SSS Physics topics, strong mathematical proficiency, and excellent digital literacy using smartboards.
