About the Role
Scruples Resources, a premier provider of consultancy, resource development, and human resource solutions for the Nigerian economy, is seeking an experienced Senior Piping Designer to join our dynamic engineering team. In this pivotal role, you will lead the development of detailed piping layouts, 3D models, and comprehensive design deliverables for major oil and gas, petrochemical, and industrial facilities, ensuring high standards of safety, quality, and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain accurate 3D piping models, piping arrangements, and fabrication drawings using industry-standard software.
- Prepare and review Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), General Arrangement (GA) drawings, and piping isometrics.
- Ensure proper routing, accessibility, constructability, and maintainability of piping systems in compliance with ASME standards.
- Coordinate seamlessly with process, mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering disciplines to resolve clashes and design interfaces.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior piping designers while reviewing their design outputs.
- Support material take-offs, piping material specifications, and participate in multidisciplinary design reviews and HAZOP sessions.
- Offer technical support during fabrication, site construction, installation, and commissioning activities.
- Bachelor's degree or HND in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Design, or a related technical discipline.
- Extensive proven experience in piping design within the oil and gas, refinery, petrochemical, or process plant industries.
- Proficiency in leading design software such as AutoCAD, AVEVA E3D, PDMS, or SmartPlant 3D.
- In-depth knowledge of international codes, standards, and specifications including ASME B31.3.
- Strong ability to interpret P&IDs, equipment layouts, vendor drawings, and engineering line lists.
